tell us about your background
Creative Directors, Sharon and Timothy went to primary school together, MOONS ago! Decades passed with inconsistent contact (HIS fault!) and then one day a phone call was had and things began. Sharon is a visual artist and Timothy is a scenic designer, they’re both educators in Brisbane and adore creating things. – Not your mainstream mainstream things, but quirky mainstream things.
tell us about what you create
We have a line of stationery called Stationary Stationery which have the current incarnation of pastel critter punched calling cards. Found Fleurs are images of flowers we have found about the place, watercoloured up and beautified as well as flower stems fashioned out of found and beggingly up-cycled materials. Faffbooks are notebooks we’ve tarted up with hand pressed stamps. Use these to write your secrets, travel plans or a shopping list.
what made you start making your pieces?
There just wasn’t anything that was a little bit quirky and affordable out there in the stationery world. Generica is EVERYWHERE!
What is your inspiration/influences?
We were both dragged up reading Beatrix Potter, Aesop’s Fables and Choose Your Own Adventure tomes. Timothy has been drawn to the epic: heroes, history and the stories of others. Sharon adores travel, communicating through image and Enid Blyton.
What materials do you use?
We love working with paper. Sharon loves watercolour. Timothy gilds stuff.
tell us about your creative process?
It’s quite organic. We knew we could work together when we spent a 48 hour stint hurtling towards a rapidly approaching deadline impeded by a tempestuous printer, and neither blood nor tears were spilt. Instead the rest of the house was kept awake by the chortle of laughter!
why did you choose in.cube8r?
We wanted to see if things took off. It’s been a process to say the least.
We hope things will WALK out in the lead up to the Holiday Season.
